Single Patch - Open hole
The single patch is a relatively thin unit with the advancement of being installed in a relatively thin laminate. Moreover, the single patch consists of a single fiber ring and a single sleeve.
The preferred loadings are in-plane and lateral concentrated forces (link to Tech. Page). The” open hole” works well for assembling components using a bolt with a counter nut.
This patch is configurable wrt:
Hole diameter (do): 10mm to 20mm
Thickness (t): 4mm and 6mm
Center Element Material: High strength steel, Stainless steel, Titanium, Peek
Fiber ring material: Carbon or Glass fiber
Sleeve material: Carbon or Glass fiber
Single Patch - Threaded
The single patch with threads is similar to the open hole patch. Having treads may provide some benefits in terms of assembly as the counter nut can be omitted.
This patch is configurable wrt:
Thread sizes (M): 10mm to 20mm
Thickness (t): 4mm and 6mm
Center Element Material: High strength steel, Stainless steel, Titanium, Peek
Fiber ring material: Carbon or Glass fiber
Sleeve material: Carbon or Glass fiber
Single Patch - Blocked hole
The single patch with the blocked hole is nearly identical to its open-hole version. The difference the patch is received without a centre hole. This provides the benefit that a non-concentric hole can be made/drilled after being installed in a laminate.
This patch is configurable wrt:
Drilling regioun diamter (dd): 10mm to 20mm
Thickness (t): 4mm and 6mm
Center Element Material: {High strength steel, Stainless steel, Titanium, Peek}
Fiber ring material: Carbon or Glass fiber
Sleeve material: Carbon or Glass fiber
Tandem Patch - Open hole
The tandem patch is a unit to be installed into thicker laminates or sandwich elements. Typical for thicknesses above 10mm.
The tandem patch consists of two integrated sleeve members separated by a distance depending on the total thickness of the patch unit. The advantage of the tandem Patch is that it cannot only be used to introduce concentrated in-plane and lateral forces but also a bending moment.
This patch is configurable wrt:
Hole diameter (do): 10mm to 20mm
Thickness (t): 10,15,20, …up to 50mm
Center Element Material: High strength steel, Stainless steel, Titanium, Peek
Fiber ring material: Carbon or Glass fiber
Sleeve material: Carbon or Glass fiber
